First day of fall
Aug 02, 2024Today is the first day of Fall. Not according to most calendars, but it really is - as our wonderful energetic wheel of the year shows us.
Yes, it feels very summery still, with warm days and late sunsets…but…your body has been taking note that ever since the Summer Solstice, the days have slowly been getting shorter.
Our days are still longer than nights, but our longer days are numbered. In another six weeks, we will be at the Fall Equinox, from which point nights will be longer than days as we begin our yearly descent into the Yin time of winter.
All the “solar-powered” folks don’t like it when I point this out, but it is simply the way of the seasons.
What to do? Relish the sunlight. Enjoy the slight easing of heat in the evenings. Note and consciously sync your body with the rhythm of the seasons.
A daily dose of Eyes to the Sky is a great way to stay calibrated with the angle of the sun. Your cells know what it means.
We are not separate from the ebbs and flows and shifts and changes of Yang and Yin energies throughout the year.
Change is the only constant.
