Spring Cleansing for your Skin
Apr 02, 2024As Spring arrives in the Bay Area, with longer days and (maybe) less winter rain, it’s a great time to change up your skin care routine. Our skin becomes habituated to ingredients, which makes them less effective, so mixing up what you’re using on a regular basis will help you get the most from your products. And as the weather around us changes, your skin’s needs will change too.
Washing your face can be as simple as a splash of water, but cleansers offer a boost to your skin with targeted ingredients. If your face is feeling dull and tired after the dark and damp of winter, long days indoors, wearing a mask or makeup, using a cleanser can provide gentle exfoliation to encourage your skin to renew itself and increase your glow. When in doubt, be gentle! Choose a product that doesn’t leave your face feeling tight or raw, and moisturize after use.
Normal and Dry Skin Rose Skin Renewal Cleansing Cream by Inesscents. This luscious rose drenched gentle cream cleanser will leave your face clean and soft without tightness or irritation. Sea-kelp extract and plant oils including rosehip and argan boost the regenerating power of this cleanser.
Oily and Breakout Prone Jade & Burdock Cleansing Cream from Jade Spa. Gently astringing and clarifying, with kaolin and bentonite clay to detoxify, this clarifying cleanser isn’t harsh or drying.
Sensitive and Reactive Skin Immortelle Daily Ritual Skin Cleansing Gel by Inesscents. This gel cleanser has a satisfying lather and delicate floral scent. Chamomile, yarrow and helichrysum (immortelle) work their plant magic to calm irritated and reactive skin
If your skin is still looking dull or flakey, or you’d like to amp up your results, a weekly scrub can be transformative. Kitchen ingredients like chickpea flour (oily and normal skin) or oat flour (sensitive or itchy skin) can be blended with water to make an easy and natural scrub. Or try Jade & Ginseng Resurfacing Exfoliator from Jade Spa, which contains rosehips, pomegranate rind and kaolin clay for a non-abrasive renewal suitable for all skin types.
