Turning Back the Clock on Sun Damage
Oct 10, 2024Enjoying the summer sun can be glorious for mind, body, and spirit. Unfortunately, it can also cause sun damage, spotting, and lines on our face, despite the diligent use of sunscreen.
As the days get shorter and cooler, you may be seeing the effects of that summer fun in the mirror. It’s a good time to make some changes to your skincare routine, like choosing a richer or brightening moisturizer, adding some rejuvenating exfoliation, and making sure you’re staying hydrated, all of which can help restore your glow. But if you’d like to really reverse those sun side effects, try Microneedling!
Microneedling can come to the rescue with gentle exfoliation and strong stimulation of collagen and elastin production to help smooth fine lines, plump up your complexion, and even out skin tone. For most people, 4-6 treatments (once a month) are recommended to see the biggest result. Microneedling never ‘wears off,’ but can be repeated next year or when you see new signs of aging or sun damage.
If you have contraindications to Microneedling such as inflammatory conditions - Nanoneedling is a great way to get gentle exfoliation and facial stimulation with powerful herbal serums using silicone “needles” that don’t penetrate the skin. Nanoneedling is also perfect for the eye area, which can’t be treated with Microneedling.
Because there is usually at least one day of downtime after Microneedling, during which you should be protected from the sun and elements, the cloudy days of fall and winter are particularly great times to get this rejuvenating treatment.
If you have questions or want to schedule your first Microneedling or Nanoneedling appointment, hit reply and we’ll get right back to you!
Looking forward to seeing your beautiful face,
