What is Therapeutic Bodywork?
Therapeutic Bodywork is a specialized form of massage therapy. All bodyworkers are massage therapists, but not all massage therapists specialize in Therapeutic Bodywork.
Ana Fletes, our Therapeutic Bodywork specialist, dedicates her professional life to deeply understanding structural pain and how to alleviate it.
Therapeutic Bodywork is a safe and non-invasive treatment option that can be used in conjunction with other therapies such as acupuncture, physical therapy, and chiropractic care. It is also a great option for individuals who may not be able to tolerate more invasive treatments such as cortisone injections or surgery.

Therapeutic bodywork focuses on reducing or eliminating back, neck, and joint pain and increasing range of motion. It is a holistic approach that uses bodywork techniques that are based on a sound understanding of anatomy, physiology, and pathology. The goal of therapeutic bodywork is to reduce pain, improve mobility, and promote healing by stimulating the body's natural healing mechanisms.
Therapeutic Bodywork differs from relaxation or stress-reduction massage. While receiving Therapeutic Bodywork can be relaxing, it is primarily a “problem-solving” approach. Your therapist’s goal is to help you live in your body with less pain and discomfort. As such, the techniques used will be varied and individualized and may be more interactive than stress-reduction massage.
Cost:Â $150 per session
Treatments are tailored based on individual needs and may include Swedish, Deep Tissue, Shiatsu, Myofascial techniques, Lymphatic Drainage and/or Oncology massage.
One of the main benefits of therapeutic bodywork is that it can provide effective pain relief without the need for drugs or surgery. It can be particularly useful for chronic pain conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, and back pain. It can also be used to treat acute injuries such as sprains, strains, and sports injuries.
Progress is assessed through the patient's comfort and abilities, but also through improved strength and range of motion or flexibility.
